Time for a toddler bed!

This is what I found Gavin doing Friday morning. Time for toddler rails! Anyone have tips to help him (and us!) transition into a toddler bed?

Here are a group of us Gambler wives that went to Hampton's in downtown Sumter for dinner. I had a deeelicious salad with diver scallops that were to die for!

Andrew's New Ride!

Brett really wants a Lexus ISF so we headed to the Lexus dealership to test-drive one. Since we took pictures of Gavin in the show car last year, we decided that Andrew needed a picture too!

Here are pictures of Gavin at 4.5 months sitting in the very expensive car and Andrew at 5 months sitting in the very expensive car!

Gavin wanted in on the action. The boys really love each other. I'm one lucky mommy!

Add this to the number of times Gavin's been to the emergency room and had an x-ray taken! Gavin's elbow got dislocated the other morning ... He was laying on the ground and reached his hand up for me to pick him up. I lifted him to his feet - no jerk or anything, I never even heard it pop - and all of a sudden he was fussy and crying. I thought he didn't want to eat so I paid no attention to his fussiness until I noticed that he wasn't using his left arm. Oh my word, after seeing his limp arm, I went into hysterics. I thought he had had a stroke or something! I called Brett at work and luckily he was able to come home and go with us to the doctor. Needless to say, after 8 hours at Sumter Pediatrics and Toumey Hospital's radiology department, Gavin's elbow popped back in on it's own and he immediately acted like nothing even happened! Turns out he had nursemaid's elbow and which is quite common for kids his age but I will NEVER pick him up by his hand again. NEVER!!!

Gavin, Daddy, and Andrew waiting patiently for the doctor to see us. Notice his poor little left arm :(.

4th of July in Savannah!

We spent a wonderful four day Fourth of July weekend with Gram and Gramps at their house in Savannah. We had such a great time at the beach, riding Gramp's boat, hanging out in the pool, and eating great food!

Day 1: We arrived around 7pm due to Daddy's need to take a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day so we didn't take any pictures.

Day 2: We spent the morning on Tybee Island where Andrew laid on the beach and Gavin played with this beach toys and made new friends. Luckily we arrived early in the day and avoided the droves of people arriving for the fireworks later that night...

Gavin made new friends!

Andrew's cute little feet in the sand.

It got so hot by mid-morning so we decided that it was time to go!

The traffic we avoided by going to Tybee Island in the morning!

Andrew was covered with so much sand and Gram has really deep sinks in her bathroom so I decided to give him a bath in the bathroom sink! He loved it!

Lunch was steamed crabs and tomato & onion pie. Yummy!

Gavin loved to stick his face in the water which freaked me out because I thought he was going to swallow water. I caught this picture of Gavin mocking me as he stuck his face in.

Look at him on his back! INFINITELY better than last year!

Andrew in his cool car.

The family

Everyone, except for me, thought it was fun to shoot water guns straight into the air so that the water fell all around Gavin. He loved it. Me? Not so much.

He had such a good time being spun around by his daddy! Thank goodness we have a water-baby after all!

Day 4: Fourth of July! We started off the morning with a boat ride down the Savannah waterfront, followed by a lunch date alone - just Mommy and Daddy - and ended the day with a neighborhood bbq and dip in the pool (unfortunately no pictures). What a great 4th of July!

The boys in their matching Fourth of July outfits!

Carting Gavin down to the dock for the boys' first boat ride!

Gavin's ready to ride! He hated his life vest but didn't cry, scream, or even talk ... he did not make one peep. NOT ONE the entire ride!

Andrew's ready and strapped in to his car seat!

Check out Gavin's death-grip on Brett's shirt. Hahahaha. He was like this the entire time.

Andrew in the co-captain's seat!

Gavin helping Gramps navigate the marshlands.

The ride was so relaxing!

Some of the Savannah waterfront ...

On our way back to the house we decided to let Gavin sit on the bow with us. Judging by his expression, we're not sure what he thought of it but it got us some great pictures!

After his ride on the bow. Check out his wind swept hair. He was so exhausted he fell asleep within minutes.

This is Andrew at the end of the ride. It was hot and he was burning up in his car seat. At least he waited for the last few minutes to get fussy!

This is where Gavin ran as soon as we got back to the house ... Into Gramp's chair with his Dora book.

While the boys napped Brett and I went on a lunch date on the Savannah waterfront. This is a picture of my delicious soft shell crab sandwich!
Day 4: Our last day ...

Can you tell that Gavin and Andrew had a great time at Gram and Gramps?

When did Gavin get so old?!

I am always aware that Gavin is getting older but it didn't hit me that he's actually 'older' until I looked at this picture...

He's not even 2 years old but he just looks so old to me. When did my baby turn into a little boy?

I love these Lacoste shoes. Ridiculously priced but it's a good thing Andrew will be able to wear them too!

Gavin picked his nose so much that it bled. Bleh.

I think Gavin's going to be like his mommy. I love organization and it seems that Gavin does too! Here he is loading his cars into the back of his truck. He's even learned to "Clean Up" and will pick all of his toys up and put them back in their designated areas!

I hate to admit it, but Gavin loves watching TV. He's learned to push the 'on' button, climb onto our bed, and relax. I've started leaving the channel on Noggin so he doesn't end up watching Daddy's Fox News Channel.

Gavin eating breakfast ... tomatoes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and ham. He only ate the tomatoes and ham but would not touch the eggs or pancakes.

This is how Gavin greets Andrew every morning and every afternoon. I say, "Gavin, let's go get your brother!" and he runs to Andrew's room and hops up onto the railings. They look at each other and laugh. It happens everytime and I love it!

Here's Andrew being Andrew. SO happy.

Good Morning Gavin!

Andrew woke up before Gavin the other day so I surprised him with Andrew in his crib in the morning! He was so happy to be greeted by his brother!

Gavin with his 'surprise' face.

What a sweet brother. He decided to 'share' his Mickey Mouse with Andrew.

Andrew says, "It's okay brother. One day I'll be bigger than you and then you'll get it!"

After letting Andrew and Gavin play for a bit, I attempted to change Gavin's diaper. He got up and ran away from me with his airplanes in hand as soon as I got his pants down.

The following are pictures of Gavin copying my poses. What a ham.

Here's Gavin and Ryan having a 'picnic' on Dana's porch.

Mommy's Look-Alike

My cousin brought it to my attention that Gavin and I look so much alike in the following photos ... I totally agree but it makes me wonder why everyone keeps telling me he looks like Brett?!

What do you guys think?

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy Baby!

I think Andrew just might be the happiest baby on the planet. He's always laughing or smiling and has quite a personality at 4 (almost 5!!!) months old. Lately he's been able to push himself around in his walker and here are some pictures!

I had to prop Andrew up for this picture but he's been holding himself up pretty well and I think he'll be sitting on his own any day now.

Here's Gavin after another nap with more bed head. This time it's less Ace Ventura and more Billy Idol.

Summers in South Carolina bring a lot of rain and thunder storms. This is a picture of the calm before the storm last week.

Squadron Party

Yogi, the squadron commander, is being replaced so we had a going away party for him at our DO's house. Our squadron band, Double Down, played, childcare was provided, bbq was served, and of course, people were thrown into the pool. A Gambler party is never complete until people are thrown into the pool.

Bed Head!

Gavin woke up from his nap with this awesome Ace Ventura hair. I sat him down for lunch and most of these pictures are of him copying poses I was doing. Model in the making!

Andrew Eats Solids!

Andrew's doctor told us that now is a good time to start Andrew with solids. We wanted to wait a couple of weeks until he turns 5 months old but decided that the doctor knows best so we bought baby food, plopped him in the bumbo, and grabbed the camera!

We started out with rice cereal and decided to mix in some prunes. He did okay ... most of it ended up on his face and bib but we hope that he catches on in a few days!

Gavin got sick of hearing us coax Andrew into opening his mouth.

Here's a picture of Gavin's first solids when he was 5 months old. See? He used to be just as white as Andrew!
Ryan came over to check out the new couch. I think it's a winner!
